From the Panhandle's Gulf beaches to Naples and the Palm Beaches, Florida's club communities differ by region. A tour of the state to help you narrow the search.
Florida is a big state, and its club communities vary as much as its coastlines. Here is a quick tour, region by region, with links to the clubs we profile in each.
Northwest Florida and the Panhandle
Sugar-white Gulf beaches, a slower pace and four mild seasons. Club communities cluster around Destin, Santa Rosa Beach and the 30A corridor, Panama City Beach, Pensacola and Tallahassee. Many combine golf with bay or beach access. See Northwest clubs.
Northeast Florida
Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach, St. Augustine and Amelia Island offer Atlantic beaches, historic towns and a strong golf heritage around Ponte Vedra and the home of the PGA Tour. Communities range from oceanside clubs to master-planned neighborhoods south of Jacksonville. See Northeast clubs.
North Central Florida and The Villages
Rolling hills, horse country around Ocala and lakes in Lake County. This region is home to The Villages and many other active-adult communities, along with gated golf communities in Ocala, Gainesville and Citrus and Hernando counties. See North Central clubs.
Central Florida
Greater Orlando, Lakeland and the lakes of Polk and Highlands counties, plus Daytona Beach and Volusia County on the coast. Expect lakeside clubs, master-planned communities and a wide range of price points, all within reach of a major airport. See Central Florida clubs.
The Space Coast and Treasure Coast
From Melbourne and Vero Beach to Stuart and Hobe Sound, this stretch of the Atlantic coast is known for barrier islands, the Indian River Lagoon and some of Florida's most private club communities, along with relaxed 55+ communities inland. See Space & Treasure Coast clubs.
Tampa Bay
Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Pasco County combine city life with Gulf beaches. Communities range from gated golf neighborhoods in north Tampa and Pinellas to Sun City Center's 55+ golf clubs south of the city. See Tampa Bay clubs.
Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte
Gulf beaches, cultural life in Sarasota and fast-growing communities around Lakewood Ranch, Venice, North Port and Punta Gorda. Many newer communities here offer bundled club membership. See Sarasota-area clubs.
Lee County: Fort Myers, Estero and Bonita Springs
Southwest Florida has one of the densest concentrations of golf communities in the country, many of them gated, bundled communities with full-service clubs. See Lee County clubs.
Naples and Collier County
Naples is synonymous with club living: dozens of private and bundled communities, many with Gulf beach clubs, along with Marco Island's waterfront lifestyle. See Naples & Collier clubs.
Palm Beach County
North of West Palm Beach, Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens offer prestigious private clubs; to the south, Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach have a remarkable concentration of large, amenity-rich club communities. See Palm Beach North and Palm Beach South.
Broward, Miami-Dade and the Keys
Urban energy, international culture and island living. Club communities here range from Weston and Parkland to waterfront and island clubs farther south. See South Florida clubs.
